A guide for brand teams

UGC pricing in Australia:
scope before cost.

A one-off video, a monthly content partnership and an influencer post are different purchases. Here is how I structure a brief and a quote so you can compare the work, deliverables and rights.

How much does UGC cost?

My projects are quoted per brief. There is no single rate that covers every video, shoot and licence, and this guide does not present an Australian market average. A useful quote separates production from usage rights and specifies what is included. Share the number of concepts, filming requirements and intended use to get a tailored price.

What changes a UGC quote?

Original concepts
A separately researched and scripted idea needs different work from another opening to an existing video. Count concepts and finished edits separately.
Filming
Product shipping, on-location access, shoot time, participants, travel and specialist requirements affect the scope. Agree who supplies the product, wardrobe and permissions.
Editing and revisions
Specify lengths, formats, captions, hook versions and revision rounds. A new concept or reshoot should not be confused with an edit revision.
Usage rights
Confirm the platforms, territories and licence period for paid advertising. Raw footage, whitelisting and extra cut-downs are separate requests rather than automatic inclusions.

What is included in a monthly partnership?

The featured monthly offer combines creative planning, scripts, filming and editing for four original concepts and eight finished video versions. The mix, schedule and responsibilities are confirmed in your proposal. These are eight finished versions, not eight separate concepts or shoot days.

You can start with a paid one-month pilot at your quoted monthly fee. Continued work is optional. A further three-month partnership is agreed separately if we both want to continue. See the monthly partnership scope.

UGC production versus influencer posting

Standard UGC production supplies content for your agreed brand channels. It does not include posting to my own pages. An influencer collaboration adds distribution through my audience and needs its own agreement. Commercial modelling is another route: your production team may handle the shoot while I contribute as on-camera talent.

Organic use, paid usage and whitelisting

Agree rights before publishing or running ads. Organic brand-channel use and paid advertising can have different licence terms. Whitelisting allows the agreed advertising use through a creator identity; confirm account permissions, platforms and duration. Ask what happens at licence expiry and how extensions are priced.

A brief you can send for a quote

  1. Your brand, product and the customer you want to reach.
  2. The intended action: product understanding, an enquiry, a sign-up or a purchase.
  3. Original concept count and the number of finished versions.
  4. Platforms, video lengths and whether the content will be used in paid ads.
  5. Licence period and any requests for raw footage or whitelisting.
  6. Product delivery, filming location, target dates and approval contact.
  7. Your budget range and any brand-approved claims or references.

How to compare quotes fairly

Compare the same scope and rights rather than a single price per video. Check revision limits, reshoots, usage extensions, GST treatment, travel, shipping and payment terms. Agree who approves the script before filming and how feedback will be consolidated.

Choose relevant portfolio work

Fashion and fragrance · Food and restaurants · Fitness and wellness · Automotive · Hotels and travel · Brands and apps · Commercial modelling

Use portfolio examples to assess the creative approach and on-camera presentation. Choose a format that explains your product, then agree how your team will measure its usefulness.
